UCLA team constructing sustainable house for 2019 Solar Decathlon

A new student group is aiming to build a sustainable house by 2019 for the Solar Decathlon, an international competition hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy.

A UCLA team will compete in the Solar Decathlon, an international competition held by the U.S. Department of Energy, to build a house fully supported by solar power and other sustainable energy sources. The team’s project, which will be designed for the Southern California climate, embraces the reality of climate change and seeks to mitigate its effects through sustainable innovation.
