Citing research from UCLA’s Institute of the Environment and Sustainability as evidence, McDonald foreshadows climate change-induced effects ranging from increases in air pollution and asthma to a projected 3-5°F rise in temperature over the course of the next 30 years. However, it isn’t all bad news! According to UCLA’s Institute of the Environment and Sustainability, mitigation efforts can slow the rise in temperatures by mid-century.
