Renowned L.A. foodie flavors her UCLA class with moral questions about food

Last Monday, Mark Gold—associate Vice Chancellor for Environment and Sustainability and head of UCLA’s Sustainable LA Grand Challenge—served as a guest speaker at restaurateur Evan Kleiman’s inaugural summer session course. Entitled, “We are Stardust: The Moral Ecology of Food,” the course aims to encourage students to look at food from a broader viewpoint of humanity’s relationship to the Earth. In his speech, Gold discussed water management and conservation strategies and innovations being developed in Los Angeles.
