UCLA’s Aradhna Tripati, Paleoclimatologist and Associate Professor of Geology, offers a unique extra credit project to her “Intro to Oceanography” classes. The project aims to inspire students to find creative ways to teach the public about topics relating to oceanography. As a result of this extra credit assignment, students have created many hilarious and educational music videos. Parody videos include songs like: Nicki Minaj’s “Starship”, Beyoncé’s “Formation”, and Wiz Khalifa’s “Black and Yellow”.
