Brad Feld discusses the Depression Grand Challenge & his role as a #DepressionHero on his blog Feld Thoughts
March 31, 2017Brad Feld is UCLA’s first #DepressionHero because he has written extensively about his experiences with depression on his blog, Feld Thoughts. During the time that he was recognized as a #DepressionHero, Brad shared that he sensed another depressive episode approaching. Brad describes this on his blog, sharing that he took several corrective measures to prevent the episode and relied on the support of friends and family to help him overcome this trying time. These experiences with depression have motivated Brad to partner with the Depression Grand Challenge (DGC) as a #DepressionHero.
On April 4, 2017, Brad will participate in a Facebook Live session and Q&A with Nelson Freimer, DGC Executive Committee member, in anticipation of World Health Day on April 7, 2017. Each year, the World Health Organization (WHO) celebrates World Health Day on April 7 to mark the anniversary of its founding and to mobilize action around a specific health concern that affects people globally. The theme of this year’s World Health Day is Depression: Let’s Talk.
