On Thursday, May 10, the UCLA Sustainable LA Grand Challenge staff met with California State University, Northridge (CSUN) President Dianne Harrison along with CSUN’s sustainability staff and faculty to discuss the Sustainable LA Grand Challenge and potential opportunities for both universities to work together. At the meeting, Harrison agreed to join the L.A. Sustainability Leadership Council. Sustainability is a key priority for CSUN; it has integrated sustainability into its operations, infrastructure, outreach, education and research, which includes a 10-year sustainability plan for the university.

CSUN is the fourth university to sign on to the council joining USC, UCLA, and Caltech. UCLA Chancellor Gene Block and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti co-chair the now 42-member leadership council, which includes leaders from business, universities and the community working toward the common goal of a sustainable future for Los Angeles.
