BuzzFeed article highlights UCLA efforts including the Sustainable LA Grand Challenge

The Sustainable LA Grand Challenge (SLA GC) was featured in a UCLA sponsored BuzzFeed article, titled “11 Ways UCLA Takes the Lead in Tackling the Challenges of Tomorrow.” The article highlighted the SLA GC’s goal of transitioning Los Angeles to 100 percent renewable energy, 100 percent locally sourced water, and enhanced ecosystem health by 2050. The article also featured  UCLA efforts including research on developing sustainable concrete conducted led by J.R. DeShazo, director of the Luskin School of Public Affairs, and Gaurav Sant, associate professor of civil and environmental engineering, as well as the designing of smarter cities through cityLAB UCLA, led by Dana Cuff, professor of architecture and urban design.
