September 21, 2018

Michael Jerrett, an environmental health science professor and chair from the Fielding School of Public Health, was quoted in the Los Angeles Times article titled, “87 days of smog: Southern California just saw its longest streak of bad air in decades.” After a summer of the worst air quality in two decades, Jerrett notes that, “There’s no question that people with preexisting lung diseases, particularly asthmatics, have had a harder time this year than they would have in previous years where there weren’t so many excrescences.”
