The University Network, a global media company for college students, featured the UCLA Depression Grand Challenge (DGC) in an article titled, “You’re Not Alone: Mental Illness Is Widespread At Universities.”  The article highlights UCLA’s approach to addressing the growing demands for mental health services for college students, and calls attention to the DGC’s program that provides students with free and accessible mental health resources. The program, recently rebranded as the Screening and Treatment for Anxiety and Depression (STAND) Program (formerly the Check In Survey), allows students to assess whether they are experiencing symptoms and offers immediate treatment options best fit for their needs. The online screening and treatment model works to bolster the university’s current mental health counseling services and provides resources to effectively meet the needs of college students.
