UCLA’s Juan Matute quoted about public transportation in Los Angeles Times

July 25, 2019

Juan Matute, deputy director of the UCLA Institute of Transportation, was quoted in a Los Angeles Times article about a planned Sepulveda Metro line, which will connect the Westside of Los Angeles with the Valley. In the article, Matute explained that the project is a good candidate for federal funding because the Sepulveda line is projected to have fast travel times and high ridership.

Matute was also quoted about public transportation in a Curbed Los Angeles article on declining bus ridership in Los Angeles. Between 2013 and 2018, the city’s bus ridership has declined by more than 270,000 daily riders.
