The Sustainable LA Grand Challenge (SLA GC) was featured in a Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) news feature titled “The quest for the sustainable city.” The article highlights SLA GC as an example of successful collaborations between local governments and researchers. The article also highlights the connection between L.A.’s new goal to source 70% of its water locally by 2035 and a SLA GC water study that concluded that transitioning Los Angeles to 100% local water by 2050 is possible.
