UCLA’s Ann Carlson quoted in NBC News on California’s increased generator dependence due to more frequent blackouts

Ann Carlson, an environmental law professor at the UCLA School of Law, was quoted in an NBC News article discussing the impacts of increased generator demand in California.

The increased demand is coming as a result of Pacific Gas & Electric’s (PG&E) announcement that it will implement rolling blackouts over the next decade to minimize the risk of its equipment sparking fires in high risk areas. This move is projected to cause a surge in the demand for home generators – some of which don’t meet the state’s strict emissions standards.
