UCLA is now home to the first zero-emission, all-electric mobile surgical instrument lab, reports Tech Crunch. The mobile surgical lab, developed by Winnebago Industries, will travel between two UCLA Medical Center campuses to collect, sterilize and repair surgical instruments.
The traveling lab can operate for a total distance of 85-125 miles on a single charge of its battery. It is expected to save the UCLA Health System up to $750,000 annually by reducing the reliance on third-party services to maintain the upkeep of surgical tools.
