UCLA Luskin Center for Innovation releases report on the environmental impact of plastic waste Los Angeles County
February 5, 2020The UCLA Luskin Center for Innovation issued a report commissioned by the Los Angeles County Chief Sustainability Office designed to inform the drafting of an ordinance to reduce plastic consumption and waste. The report confirms that single-use plastic food service waste has an outsized negative impact, generating serious environmental and economic damage to the greater Los Angeles area.

In a story about the study on L.A. County’s website, County Chief Sustainability Officer Gary Gero said that the average person can “reduce the amount of waste created on a daily basis, be aware of the packaging on the products you purchase and be conscious of your food waste.”
