Students will conduct research under the mentorship of Sustainable LA Grand Challenge faculty and senior sustainability researchers. Additionally, participants will have the chance to participate in their own group interdisciplinary research experiences aimed at addressing real urban sustainability challenges in the Los Angeles area.

The course is open to students who will be second and third years during the 2020-21 school year. Fourth-year students and above may apply to be project consultants, who help provide leadership and guidance to the student research groups.

Students enrolled in the URSP will receive a total of four units each quarter for their work. The course is offered for two units each quarter, and students will receive a P/NP in the Fall and letter grades in the Winter and Spring quarters. Additionally, each student will register for two units of SRP99 each quarter (P/NP).
