UCLA Grand Challenges featured in 2015 APLU Council on Governmental Affairs meeting in Indiana

Michelle Popowitz (UCLA Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research and Executive Director for UCLA Grand Challenges) joined an esteemed panel to discuss Identifying and Solving Grand Research Challenges at the 2015 APLU Council on Governmental Affairs Annual Meeting held on November 15, 2015 in Indianapolis. Michelle shared highlights of the evolution of the UCLA Grand Challenge initiative and tips for other universities interested in starting their own programs. The panel was moderated by Jo Handelsman, Associate Director for Science, Office of Science and Technology Policy, The White House and other panelists included Chris A. Kaiser, Former Provost, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Fred H. Cate, Vice President, Research, Indiana University.
