Duane Muller is the new assistant director, government agency liaison for environment and sustainability for the Sustainable LA Grand Challenge (SLA GC). A native Angeleno, Duane brings 20 years federal government experience (U.S. Agency for International Development, U.S. Department of Energy, U. S. Congress) and diverse collaborative skills to strategize, identify funding opportunities, and help foster partnerships. Duane is a former UN climate change negotiator and Expert Reviewer for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Fifth Assessment Report. Over the last five years, Duane has provided consulting services to non-profit, private sector, and philanthropic organizations, advising her clients on strategic communications, public policy effectiveness, and advocacy efforts. She has worked at the intersection of climate change policy, environment, and sustainability for most of her professional career. Duane received her master’s degree in political management from George Washington University, and holds a bachelor’s degree in diplomacy and world affairs, and German, from Occidental College.
