President Obama launched the Brain Research through Advancing Innovative Neurotechnologies (BRAIN) Initiative, a bold new research initiative designed to revolutionize our understanding of the human brain. UCLA’s Chancellor Gene Block, Professor Kelsey Martin (Interim Dean, David Geffen School of Medicine; Professor, Department of Chemical Biology & Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences) and James S. Economou (former Vice Chancellor for Research) were present for the launch in Washington, D.C.
